Welcome to The Path of Pink - an innovative web site that will help you on your journey through breast cancer...

July 2009

Yippie! The new site will be up in a couple of days! One or two more administrative tasks and it will be ready. We are so excited about the new site and new features. It will be so much easier to add links and you will also be able to register, so we can better customize the site to you as we progress. I will send out a newsletter when it is up, so be sure to set The_Path_of_Pink@mail.vresp.com as one of your "safe senders" in your e-mail program!

If you just can't wait to see the new site, click here, to see a preview! As always, we welcome feedback - just drop a line to jennifer.quack@pathofpink.org. We would love to hear what you think!

June 2009

Keep checking back as we get into the swing of summer! More news will be coming soon regarding our new website, fundraising events and new designs!

April 2009

Join us for a PoP Party!

Every month or so, we are going to have PoP Parties. We invite three direct sales representatives to show off their merchandise during our party.  And, they donate all or a portion of their profits to The Path of Pink. How great is that? You get to buy something you want, you help the rep make a living and help The Path of Pink in the process. Sounds like a great Stimulus Plan to me!

Our March party was a great success, with several hundred dollars being donated to The Path of Pink. If you are interested in products from Mary Kary, Pampered Chef, or Silpada, give these wonderful women a shout!

March 2009

February 2009

A whole month of the new year is already under our belt! Here at The Path of Pink, we are working behind the scenes to bring you a better web experience and more prototypes of our Survivor Style! clothing line. Read on for the coming stages and phases. But before that - we'd like to tell you...Thank You! Thank you to everyone that gave toward our mission in 2008. Your generosity helped get The Path of Pink off to a great start. Since its inception on June 19, 2008, we attended expos and gave presentations, produced six Survivor Style! prototypes and began our website. Your continuing generosity throughout 2009 will help us get through our next steps...

Stages and Phases

As with toddlers and teens, businesses grow in stages, too. We have taken our first steps, but you need more! So we are working hard to bring you the next phase of our progress. This means more and better things on our website and even more prototypes to test!

Here is a preview of what we will be working on for the web site:

  • Link Submission Form/Button
You can contribute to The Path of Pink! With a Link Submission Form, you will be able to add your two-cents about breast cancer information that is out here on the web. Do you have a favorite page that has provided some much needed information or comfort? You will be able to tell the rest of the community all about it!
  • Profile Creation
As more and more links are added to the site, we want to be sure you won't ever be lost among them. We will create a profile page where you can add your personal information, which we can then use to show you the most relevant links to your situation. Are you a young woman with triple-negative DCIS and Invasive Breast Cancer? We'll be able to sort links on the treatment page to show you those for ER-/PR-/Her2- situations at the top of the page.
  • Personalizing Your Experience
Lots of links means lots of scanning through information. Have you already seen some of it? We'll let you hide or collapse links you've already checked out. Found a few that you really like? Rank them!
  • More and More Links
Although there are only a few now, we will be adding more all the time. Our goal is at least one per day - starting now!
  • Functional Beauty
As we add more information to the site, we also want to make it easy on the eyes. As the days go by, we will be continuing our updates to the aesthetics of the site, as well.

While we work on the website, we are also working on our Survivor Style! clothing line:

  • Prototypes
We have a magnificent, imaginative seamstress, Mrs. Tiffany Russell, that is putting together our prototypes. She has created six so far, and more are on the way!
  • Testing
We are still looking for women that will be in our focus group! We need to test our prototypes and be sure they will be both functional and beautiful for women with all types of breast cancer issues - scarring, breast forms, size and shape changes.
  • Development
Once we have ensured our designs produce the proper confidence, concealment, and style requirements, we will post them up on our site for everyone to access!

Tax Exempt Status

We have applied for our 501(c)(3) status so that we can be tax exempt. We have been assigned a reviewer to go over our application. We are now eagerly waiting to hear more about our status. We will keep you informed as soon as we know more. With money being so tight right now, we hope being tax-exempt will help you as you help us!

Our Wish List

We are right on the brink of producing our clothing. We have several prototypes done and are at a point where our next steps are dictated by you, our generous donors! We have posted a "wish list" (first button to the left) that will show you how you can help move us forward. With your help, our website can progress and we may even be able to have some dresses and blouses ready for your holiday shopping! Can you believe it? Wow!

The Path - "Buy a Brick! Build a Path!"

"The Path" we would like to construct will be a virtual pink brick path showing your support of The Path of Pink. We will have various sizes of "paving" supplies that you can "purchase" to add to our path. Each donation for a stone will allow for the honoring of a loved one.

In addition to the pink path, we are in need of sponsors for our various events. If you would like to help us attend an expo as an exhibitor, we will proudly display your logo on our booth and on our website.

Survivor Style!

We are still looking for breast cancer survivors local to the Lansing, Michigan, area for a focus group. If you are a survivor, or know a survivor, that is between the ages of 20 and 45, please contact us. We need your help! We are looking for an informal group that will help us review our designs to be sure they are covering any scarring and breast forms.
